Mrs. Dorothy Ann Farmer, 75, of Albany, Georgia departed this life on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. Celebration of Life will be held on August 28, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Union Memorial Cemetery, 1100 S. McKinley Street, Albany, Georgia 31701. Meadows Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The season of life for Mrs. Dorothy Ann Riggins Farmer began on April 4, 1946, in
Camilla, Mitchell County, Georgia. She was the third child born to the late Mr. H.L. “Mr.
Bubba” Williams and the Late Mrs. Lillian Thomas “Mrs. Mutt” Williams.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life, the late Mr. Alex Farmer Jr.
They were blessed to be in love for over 55 years. To this union they were blessed with
5 children, two preceded them in death. One Son: Mr. Alex Deon Farmer and One
Daughter that passed away, on August 16, 2021 Ms. Angelia L. Farmer.
During the early years of her life, she received a formal education, graduating from
Monroe High School “The Golden Tornados” and later she furthered her education at
Albany Technical College.
She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church under the leadership of the Late Rev.
Reynolds. She later began fellowship with Arcadia Missionary Baptist Church under the
leadership of Rev. Doctor Ronnie Arrington.
Diane as many knew her worked over 38 years, she was employed at Phoebe Putney
Memorial Hospital. In addition of working and raising her children and grandchildren she
enjoyed working in her yard every chance she got. The love of being outdoors she
works countless hours maintaining a well-groomed yard, until her health began to fell.
On Sunday, August 22, 2021, Diane transitioned from this earthly season to everlasting
rest, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death of two siblings her brother: Mr.
Albert Riggins Jr., and Sister: Mrs. Eva Pearl Rivers. Her Father and Mother-In-Law: Mr.
Alex Farmer Sr., and Mrs. Flossie Farmer.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by her devoted Daughter: Ms. Regina
Farmer; Sons: Mr. Gregory Farmer of Jacksonville, FL. and Mr. Vincent Nelson Farmer
of Atlanta, GA.; A Sister: Mrs. Eleanor Glaze of Albany, GA. Nine (9) Grandchildren:
Kavoski Johnson, Sharneice Johnson, Sumter Johnson, Destiny Johnson, Brennon
Farmer, Gaylyn Farmer, Gaya Farmer, Kamiyah Johnson and LaMariah Thomas. Three
(3) Brothers-In-Law: Keith and Kelvin Farmer of Albany, GA. and Tony Lee Farmer of
McDonough, GA. Eight (8) Sisters-In-Law: Mrs. Helen Riggins, Mrs. Mary Geardline
(Harry) Collier, Mrs. Linda Faye (Bobby) Peterson, Mrs. Maxzine Farmer-Laster, Mrs.
Janice Jones, Mrs. Flossie (Pastor Solomon) Loud, all of Albany, GA. and Mrs. Shirley
Ann Holmes of Lithonia, GA. Two (2) Great Aunts: Mrs. Addie Rivers & Mrs. Annie Mary
Riggins both of Albany, GA. And a Host of Nephews, Neices, Cousins and many
friends.
