Ms. Cynthia Rena Turner, 55, of Albany, Georgia departed this life on Friday, March 12, 2021 at her residence in Albany, Georgia. Homegoing Celebration will be held on Friday March 19, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Floral Memory Gardens, 120 Old Pretoria Road, Albany, Georgia 31701. Meadows Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. You may sign the guestbook or send condolences to the family by visiting Meadows' website at www.meadowsofalbany.com.

The beautiful Cynthia Rena Turner, affectionately known as “Cynt,” was born to Annie Mae Turner and the late Johnny Rufus Turner Sr, on May 11, 1965, in Albany, GA.

As a young child, she was baptized at I Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Dawson, GA. As a woman of God, her relationship with the Lord was of the utmost importance, and her all-time favorite Bible verse was Psalms 23.

She was educated in the Dougherty County School System, and graduated from Albany High School in 1983. Upon graduating, she pursued and completed a Flight Attendant training program in Miami, FL, but ultimately decided to go in a different direction.

Cynthia began, what would be, her 30-year career working at Proctor and Gamble, in June of 1990. Never afraid to “put on her big girl boots,” Cynt’s assertive and hard-working spirit allowed her to serve in leadership positions, while working as a technician at the Albany plant.

Cynthia had a heart for senior citizens, and would take the time to ensure that they had fun, memorable outings. She especially adored her ‘September Girls,’ Annie Turner, Dollie Roberts, Mattie Watson, and Emma Gamble. Cynt enjoyed shopping until she dropped, throwing her own birthday parties, watching Lifetime movies with her daughter, Kelsey, and spending time with her family and friends. Two of Cynthia’s closest friends were Ms. Shawond Miller and Mrs. Barbara Paschal.

While resting in her Albany home, Ms. Turner transitioned to her heavenly home on March 12, 2021. She is preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Turner, Jr. She leaves to survive her one daughter, Kelsey Roberts (Albany, GA); two godsons Joshua Toson and Remus Eason (both of Atlanta, GA); her mother, Annie Turner (Albany, GA); her siblings Shirley Turner (Albany, GA), Jacqueline Daniels (Cairo, GA), Conny Turner (Carol), Winferd Turner (Thelma), and Edna Turner (all of Albany, GA), and Daryl Ball; as well as a host of deeply loved and cherished nieces and nephews.

**Great nephews Mister Kyler Elijah Turner and Mister Tyler Ethan Turner will forever be Ms. Turner’s “Booka-Bookas” and super special inspirations**

I can’t believe that I’m writing on the loss of my close high school friend. I was heartbroken and saddened when I got the message, Cynthia was my high school bestie...when I came home from the Navy to visit she was right there...picking me up from the airport in Atl. We always had fun and we always picked up as though we had never been apart. She had a heart of gold and was full of life!! She loved her family and she could always be counted on whenever needed. I will always treasure our friendship and the memories and laughs we had whenever we saw each other. May her memory be a blessing to all that knew her and to all the lives she touched. May the Turner family be comforted during this most difficult time and May you all be blessed and lifted up during this time of bereavement. Rest in eternal peace my dear friend.💕🙏🏿💕
