Mr. Samuel Paul Caldwell, 83, of Albany, Georgia departed this life on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. in the Greater Cutliff Grove Baptist Church, 835 W Broad Ave, Albany, GA  31701 Meadows Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Samuel Paul Caldwell, was born September 18, 1937 to the late Rev. Thomas Caldwell, Sr. and Mrs. Perrie Lee Caldwell. He departed this life on Saturday morning, March 6, 2021, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany, Georgia.

He was a member of The Greater Cutliff Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon of the church and he was a member of the Male Chorus. He served on various committees throughout his many years of service.

Upon graduation from High school, he joined the United States Army and served in active duty for four years. He was a carpenter and brink mason before starting his work career at Proctor and Gamble, where he worked for 22 years before he entered into retirement in 2000.

Mr. Caldwell had two brothers, one sister and one brother-in-law to precede him death; Mr. Hubert (Mamie) Kegler, Bishop A.F. (Dr. Bennette) Caldwell Sr. and Melanie Goode and one brother-in- law, Rev. Oscar Felton Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memories, devoted wife of 59 years, Ella Ree Caldwell; one daughter Wanda (Randy) Tinson, Jacksonville, FL, John (Rose) Whitfield, Pasadena, CA. One sister: Annette Felton, Fort Valley, GA. Two brothers: Thomas (Jimmie Sue) Caldwell, Detroit, MI, Bishop John (Inez) Thomas, Albany, GA. One grandson: Demetric Sherrod Caldwell. Three granddaughters: Rashunda Whitfield, Destiny Caldwell, D’Undrea Caldwell. Two great-granddaughters: Khole Caldwell, Kamille Hines and host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

    Sam was a friend of mine at work. He was one of the nicest guys I worked with at P&G. I have fond memories of him and always will. Prayers to the family that you can miss him on earth but prepare to live with him eternally because I know where his soul is right now in Heaven.
