Bertha Lee Marshall was born on April 27, 1934, in Albany, Georgia, to the late Mr. John and Mary Lou Cook. She received her education through the Dougherty County School System.

Bertha was united in holy matrimony to Ike Marshall, Jr., at an early age. To this union, eleven children were born; four preceded her in death. Bertha confessed her faith in Christ at an early age. My prayers and condolences are with the family. In remembrance of Mother Marshall, she kept me laughing when she would tell me, if I had a husband, he would probably leave me, because he wouldn’t be able to feed me. Lol!! I always did love her hugs.

When I Must Leave You by Helen Steiner Rice When I must leave you For a little while- Please do not grieve And shed wild tears And hug your sorrow to you Through the years, But start out bravely With a gallant smile; And for my sake And for my name Live on and do All things the same, Feed not your lonliness On empty days, But fill each waking hour In useful ways, Reach out your hand In comfort and in cheer And I in turn will comfort you And hold you near; And never, never Be afraid to die For I am waiting for you in the sky!
