Mr. Charles Wimberly, 70, of Camilla, Georgia lived in Hawkinsville, Georgia departed this life on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at his residence in Hawkinsville, Georgia. Homegoing Celebration will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Fleatown Cemetery, Earl Hester Road, Climax, Georgia. Meadows Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Charles Wimberly, Sr. was born November 9, 1950 to the late
Mr. Sylvester Wimberly, Sr. and Mrs. Annie L. Wimberly. He
departed this life on Thursday morning, January 28, 2021 at
home in Hawkinsville, Georgia.
He was a minister of the Gospel and shared it with those whom he met
on his Life’s Journey.
Upon graduation from high school, he joined the United States Army
and served active duty for eight years. He also served several years
with the Army Reserve and the Air Force Reserve. He attended Albany
Junior College and Albany State University to further his education.
He retired from Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Georgia.
Mr. Wimberly had two brothers to precede him in death: Mr. Ceartis
Wimberly and Mr. Sylvester Wimberly, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted wife, Joyce Douglas
Wimberly; two daughters; Michelle (Wayne) Stevens, Albany,
Georgia and Sherrita Wimberly, Albany, Georgia; two sons: Richard
(Lawasia) Wimberly, Albany, Georgia and Charles (Christina)
Wimberly, Jr., Guam; three sisters: Irene (Claude) Williams, Albany
Georgia, Ruthie Wimberly, Camilla, Georgia, Katie Wimberly,
Albany, Georgia; Six grandsons: Richard D. Wimberly, Brandon
Wimberly, Charles S. Wimberly, Chaz Wimberly, Tyree Wimberly
and D’Jon Wimberly. Four granddaughters; De’Qundra Stevens,
Cherita Wimberly, Rita Hamilton and Serenity Wimberly; one great
grand son: Emelio Haughton; two Sister-in-Laws: Emma Douglas and
Selessia Berry; four Brother-in-Laws: L.C. Douglas, Sr., Otis Douglas,
Jr., George Berry and Bradley Douglas and a host of nieces, nephews
and other relatives and friends.
