Mr. Eddie D. Rouse, 81, of Albany, Georgia departed this life on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at his residence in Leesburgs, Georgia. Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in the Mt. Zion Memorial Garden Cemetery, Highway 300, Oakfield, Georgia. Meadows Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. You may sign the guestbook or send condolences to the family by visiting Meadows' website at www.meadowsofalbany.com.
Mr. Eddie D. Rouse was born on January 5,
1940 to the late Mr. Albert and Mrs. Lillie Bell
Rouse in Oakfield, Georgia.
On May 27, 1961, he married the love of his life,
Annie Pearl Holliday Rouse. They were married
for almost sixty blissful years. He was a
dedicated husband, father, and a pillar of his
community.
In 1970 with only an 8th grade education, he
became the entrepreneur of Eddie’s Lawn
Service where he employed his children,
grandchildren, and many young men in the
neighborhood. He taught them the importance of
earning an honest wage. He was employed at
Georgia Pacific of Albany, Georgia as a press
operator where he retired after thirty-six years.
In 1970 he also became a member of the
Supreme Grand Lodge of Internal Free and
Accepted Modern Mason, Omega Large #24. He
served faithfully until his health started
declining. He enjoyed farming, gardening, and
fishing with his children, grandchildren, and
son-in-law.
Most importantly, he accepted Christ as his
personal savior at an early age and joined the
Blue Springs Baptist Church, Warwick,
Georgia. He was faithful and dedicated servant.
He held several positions, such as a choir
member, Deacon, and Chairman of the Deacon
Board for more than thirty years. He loved God
and didn’t mind letting the world know, “For
God I Live and for God I’ll Die.”
Eddie will be remembered most for his love for
Christ and his passion to embrace everyone with
love. He will be missed as a solid rock for his
church family and friends. His leadership
touched, shaped, and molded the lives of many.
He is gone, but his legacy shall continue in our
hearts.
