Mother Cora L. Mims Henderson, 77, of Albany, Georgia departed this life Sunday, December 27, 2020 at her residence in Albany, Georgia. Interment will be held Saturday, January 2, 2021 in the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, 3137 Palmyra Road, Leesburg, Georgia. Meadows Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Cora Henderson was born August 5, 1943.

Cora was a hardworking woman who valued family and honesty. Cora loved to dance and had a deep passion for landscaping. But above all things, Cora loved the Lord.

Every Sunday that the church doors were open, she was in attendance. Cora never believed in never turning anyone away from her door because “it could be the Lord.” There was not a selfish bone in her body. She liked to drink and “juke” but never was a day late or a dollar short with her bills. She dressed up everyday as if she was a model, so anytime you saw her, you had a compliment because she had style as if she was a clothing designer.

She was proud and unapologetic for who she was. She was feisty, bold, and at the same time humble and would give her last dollar. She finished her last two years at home surrounded by her loving, daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is loved, missed, and cherished.

Cora departed this life on December 27, 2020.

Cora leaves to cherish her memories a loving daughter, Barbara Mims; a sister, Doris Ingram; her grandchildren, Marion Mims, Jr., Lakesha Mims, Lashonda Mims and a host of loving family member.
