Deacon James Steve Robinson, 82, of Albany, Georgia departed this life Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. in the Floral Memory Gardens, 120 Old Pretoria Road, Albany, Georgia 31721. Meadows Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A Time to be Born: Ecclesiastes 3:2
James Steve Robinson, Jr., the seventh child of ten born to the late James Robinson, Sr. and the late Emma Jones Robinson
was born September 12, 1938 in Calhoun County, Georgia.
A Time to Serve God: Revelation 14:7
At an early age, James Steve confessed his Life to Jesus Christ and joined Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Leary,
Georgia. Later he joined the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church of Albany, Georgia, where he served with the Deacons’
Ministry (twenty plus years) as Chairman. He taught the Young Adult Sunday School Class, was an active participant of the
Wednesday Night Bible Study Class, Sunday School Emphasis and Prayer Meeting. He also served as Chairperson for Shiloh’s
Church and Pastor’s Anniversaries.

James Steve attended the Public Schools of Leary, Georgia:
• St. Peters Elementary School, grades 1-6
• Leary Elementary (Anderson Elementary School), grade 7
• Henry Tucker Singleton High School and Edison High School (Grades 8-12) “Graduated with Honors”.
College Education:
• BS Degree in Science Education from Albany State College (University)
•
Attended: National Science Foundation (NSF) at Tuskegee Institute, Tuskegee, Alabama and Fort Valley State
College (University), Fort Valley, Georgia
A Time to Cherish: 1st Corinthians 7:3
James Steve met his sweetheart Atteen Johnson-Robinson in August 1963. They were united in holy matrimony on May 23,
1964 and to this union they were blessed with two sons, Timothy Rennesso Robinson and Christopher James Robinson.
A Time to Work:
Mr. Robinson was in the teaching profession for 31 years having taught in Georgia in the following counties: Clinch, Coffee
and Dougherty.
Services Rendered: Science Department Chairperson in Clinch and Coffee counties and Southside, Merry Acres and
Highland Middle Magnet Schools in Dougherty County.
He was affiliated with several organizations which included; Life member of Georgia Retired Educators Association, Past
President of Dougherty County Association of Educators (1976-1977) and he served on the 4-H Board of Directors.
Services Rendered: Mr. Robinson was chosen as “System Teacher of the Week” and “Teacher of the Year” for Highland
Middle Magnet School. He also wrote the system outline for the Dougherty County School System in the area of Science on
Insects.
He retired from the Dougherty County School System in 1992.

Besides his parents, James Steve was preceded in death by three sisters: Ethel Lee Davenport, Rosa Lee Shorter and Irene
Proctor; three brothers: Lewis Robinson, Charlie Robinson and Robert Lee Robinson.
On Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany, Georgia, James Steve quietly made the
transition from his earthly home to his heavenly home.

Left to carry on his memory are his devoted wife, Atteen Johnson-Robinson: two sons, Timothy Rennesso (Tamara)
Robinson of Albany, Georgia and Christopher James (Courtney) Robinson of Covington, Georgia. Five grandchildren:
Renejia Amari, Ke’von Bernard, A’Kiyah Danielle, Chassidy Jada and Jalen James. One sister, Emma Jean Jefferson of Albany,
Georgia. Two brothers, Willie Fred Robinson of Leary, Georgia and Willie B. (Frances) Robinson of Albany, Georgia. A host of
nieces, nephews, cousins,
in-laws and friends.
