Mr. Stephen B. Bruce Jr, 26, of Albany, Georgia departed this life on Friday, November 20, 2020 in Worth County, Georgia. Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 27, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. in the Floral Memory Gardens, 120 Old Pretoria Road, Albany, Georgia 31707. The journey of life for Stephen Bernard Bruce, Jr. began in Savannah, Georgia on June 3, 1994. He was born to Mr. Stephen Bruce and Dr. Lynderia “Lyn” Cheevers. He graduated from Druid Hills High School (Atlanta, GA) in May 2012. Stephen was affectionally referred to as “Sherwood” among his football teammates at Druid Hills. He developed a love of nature and the outdoors by spending lots of time hunting and fishing with his paternal grandfather. Stephen worked as a FedEx Delivery Driver.

Stephen confessed Christ as his personal savior while attending a Sherwood Christian Academy school-sponsored activity in April 2005. He was baptized at Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, GA. His favorite scripture was Isaiah 40:29-31. Stephen loved to sing and served on the Praise and Worship Team at Divine International Church (Atlanta, GA) for several years.

Stephen had a profound love and amazing compassion for his family and friends. His heart found a resting place in the soul of Keundra Wilson. They were united in holy matrimony on May 10, 2016. Two handsome sons were born to that union.

On Friday, November 20, 2020, God softly whispered for His child to come with Him and rest.

Stephen leaves the legacy of his season to his wife Keundra Wilson Bruce; two sons Asher Gregory Bruce and Beaux Hilton Bruce all of Albany, GA; parents Stephen (LaKisha) Bruce (Albany, GA) and Dr. Lyn Cheevers (Brookhaven, GA); mother-in-law Tracey Wilson and father- in-law Edward Wilson both of Albany, GA; grandparents Hilton & Pr. Virginia Cheevers (Sylvester, GA) and Mary Poindexter (Albany, GA); two brothers Dorien Bruce (Albany, GA) and Anthony Branch, II (Brookhaven, GA); two sisters Lauren Bruce and Reagen Bruce both of Albany, GA; one sister-in-law Keyana Wilson and two brothers-in-law Kendarius Wilson and Kameron Wilson all of Albany, GA; six uncles- Neil (Tandra) Cheevers (Fayetteville, GA), Jeffrey Bruce and Michael Bruce both of Albany, GA; Melvin (Dr. Saudia) Powell, Jr., Derek (Christina) Manuel, and Minister Tracy (Latecia) Cheevers all of Sylvester, GA; five aunts- Patricia K. (Rev. Carl) Booth (Pahokee, FL), Felicia Butler (Upper Marlboro, MD), Kasandra Gervin, Betty (Larry) Bouyer, and Jacqueline (Terry) King all of Albany, GA; and Godparents Jason Franklin (Savannah, GA) and Trinka Polite (Albany, GA). Precious memories will also linger in the minds of a host of cousins and dear friends.
