On November 17, 2020 at approximately 9:00 a.m., God
pulled a beautiful rose from his garden. Geneva Favors
Thomas was the only child born to Howard and Eva
Favors on July 27, 1941, who precedes her in death.
At an early age, Geneva gave her life to Christ and joined
Cutliff Grove Baptist Church. During her marriage to
Roosevelt Thomas, she changed her membership to
Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church to be with her
family. While attending Jordan Grove, she became a
member of the Deaconess Board. She was also a
member of the Pastor’s – Aide club, Daughters’ of
Esther, the Kitchen Committee, and song in the choir for
a very short time.
She attended school in Dougherty County where she
graduated from Monroe High School in 1959, and also
completed Albany Vocational School in the Nurse’s Aide
Program.
She was married to the late Deacon Roosevelt Thomas.
During her lifetime, Geneva wore many hats. She was a
mother, mother-in–law, grandmother, neighborhood
mom, aunt, sister, friend, and more to many people.
Most of all, she will be remembered for having a heart
of gold. She will always be remembered and cherished
in our hearts.
Geneva leaves a legacy of love through her four
children: Sharon Clyde (North Carolina), Darryl R.
Thomas, Cheryl R. Thomas, and Kimberly Holsey
(Leonard) (Georgia). She also leaves three beautiful
granddaughters: Eisha Clyde (North Carolina), Edriana
Clyde (North Carolina) and Autumn Holsey (Georgia).
