Mr. Wilbur J. King, 66, of Lawrenceville, Georgia originally Albany, Georgia departed this life Monday, July 6, 2020 at Gwinnett Hospital in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Graveside services will be Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at 11:00 A. M. in the Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery, 120 Old Pretoria Road, Albany, Georgia. Meadows Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Wilbur King (along with his identical twin Alfred) was born on March 29, 1954 to the late RJ and Mollie King in Albany, Georgia.

In his early years, Wilbur and his brothers served on the usher board at Beulah Baptist Church.

Wilbur was a 1973 graduate on Monroe High School. He worked as a manager at various companies over the years. Lastly, he worked at Gwinnett Medical Center and had recently retired after 25 years.

Wilbur was a huge sports fan. He loved going to the Albany State football games and watching all college and professional sports. His favorite team was anywhere LeBron James went, Cleveland, Miami, Cleveland, and then the LA Lakers. In 2008, Wilbur met and fell in love with Brenda Campbell and they married on May 21, 2012. He is the proud father of Brandon King, Gerard Sutton, Danishea Watkins, Timmeda Campbell-Morrah and Tempest Campbell.

On Monday, July 6, 2020, our Heavenly Father called to rest his very own. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lola King, and brother Willie B. King. Wilbur leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife Brenda; his children, Brandon (Sherria) King of Oakland, TN, Gerard Sutton, Danishea Watkins, Timmeda (Eric) Morrah, and Tempest Campbell; grandchildren, Brandon (BK), Elijah and Ethan; siblings, Virgle King of Albany, GA, Lula King Carlisle of Riviera Beach, FL, Matilda King Nether of Sylvester, GA, Freddie (Gloria) King of Felton, DE, Katie King (George) Whitfield of Albany, GA, Ada King (Mark) Clark of Albany, GA, Alfred (Sue) King of Albany, GA, James (Christine) King of Loganville, GA, Willie C. King of Lithonia, GA, Eddie (Sally) King of Decatur, GA, Jessie King of Atlanta, GA, Richard King of Warner Robbins, GA; one aunt, Queen Kersey of Leesburg, GA; sister in love, Linda (Johnny) Green of Texas and brother in love, Leonard Harris of Albany, GA. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Wilbur will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
