Mrs. Martha Stevenson, 89, of Sylvester, Georgia departed this life Friday, June 26, 2020 at her residence. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 2605 Sylvester Road, Albany, Georgia. Meadows Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Martha J. Stevenson was born on June 23, 1931 in Moultrie, Georgia. To the late Ella Mae King & Ulaysee James. Martha departed from this walk of life on June 26, 2020. She was educated in Worth County Public School System where she graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1950. She accepted Christ at an early age. She served faithfully at the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia. As years passed, Martha married to the late Bobby Stevenson in 1973 whereby they relocated in Hollywood, Florida. Martha was a devoted wife & mother to her stepchildren. A loving daughter, Gail Veal and a loving son, Daryl Stevenson. She was employed for the Broward Public School System for 37 years. She served as a Director of Transportation. She returned to Sylvester, Georgia after the transition of her spouse, Mr. Bobby Stevenson and she united herself in fellowship to the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia under the leadership of Dr. Daniel Simmons, Senior Pastor. She was a faithful member of attendance and faithful financial supporter.

Martha was a loving sister and aunt. She leaves to cherish her memories, three loving sisters: Earline Robinson, Macon, Georgia; Catherine J. Crapps (Charlie), Sylvester, Georgia; Leola J. Hall, Atlanta, Georgia. Three brothers: Charlie L. James (Joyce), Ruben L. James (Vera), Arthur L. James (Gwenivera), Atlanta, Georgia, host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Special niece Margaret Ann Wallace, Clyo, Georgia.
