“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith…the storm is over now.”

Mrs. Pearlie Mae Pegues Little was born February 5, 1950 in Chesterfield, South Carolina to the late Warniece Pegues Chambers and James Chambers.  She departed this life June 4, 2020 at Richmond County Hospice, Rockingham, NC.

She attended the public schools of Chesterfield, South Carolina.  She worked numerous jobs until her health declined.

Pearlie who was affectionately known as Pearlie Mae.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  Pearlie Mae inspired many lives, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to whom she loved dearly.

She was a loving and kind person with a very giving nature.  She was eager to help in any way she could.  Anyone that knew her, knew that she spoke her mind.  She will truly be missed by her family and by all that knew her.

She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Gatewood Station AME Zion Church. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jollie Little, Jr.

She leaves to forever cherish her memories two daughters:  Bernice Little of Rockingham, NC and Tosha Little (Timmie) of Wadesboro, NC.  Three sons, Jollie Edward Little, Thomas Lee Little and Zonta Monte Little of the home.  One son preceded her in death, Maurice Leon Little.  Five granddaughters, two of which she reared as her own, Shaneika Little-Harrison (Johnta) of Concord, NC and Creshawn Shanee Little of Rockingham, NC, Zontavia Angel Serenity Little, Tyeion Marie Little, Tyshanti Marie Little all of Wadesboro, NC.  One grandson, Amaurion Jimere Little of Wadesboro, NC.  Six great grandchildren, Johntasia, Johntavian, and Johnta Harrison of Concord, NC, Ja’Kayla Sturdivant, Ja’liya Sturdivant and Ca’liya Burns of Rockingham, NC.

Two sisters, Lee Doris Richardson of Wadesboro, NC and Frances Teal of Morven, NC.  Two sisters preceded her in death, Ruby Lee Chambers and Myrtle Lee Chambers.  Five brothers, Howard Lee Chambers and Earnest Chambers (Wanda) of Morven, NC, Walter Lee Chambers (Edna) of Cheraw, SC, Jimmy Chambers of Marshville, NC and Alexander Chambers of Charlotte, NC.  Two brothers preceded her in death, Kenneth Chambers and L.T. Chambers.  Nine sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law.

Two special young ladies she treated as her granddaughters, Kayla Ratliff and Jasmine Douglas.  Two special friends, Daisy Garris and Carol Turner.  A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be on Friday, June 12, 2020, 3:00pm at Gatewood Station AME Zion Church Cemetery, Morven, North Carolina.  

The family will greet family and friends on Friday, June 12, 2020 from 2:30-3:00pm at Gatewood Station AME Zion Church Cemetery.
