Mother Odessa Daniels, 91, of Albany, Georgia departed this life Thursday, May 7, 2020 at PruittHealth-Palmyra Nursing Home in Albany, Georgia. Graveside service will beTuesday, May 12, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in Riverside/Oakview Cemetery, 200 Cotton Ave, Albany, Georgia. Funeral will be attended by immediate family ONLY. Meadows Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Odessa Brown Daniels, the youngest child born on July 26, 1928, to the late Mr. Jessie Brown and Mrs. Josephine Morgan Brown Rainey, in Baker County, Georgia. She was educated at Oliver Grove School, in the Arlington, Georgia, (Early County) School System.

She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Otis Daniels, Sr. She was the proud and blessed mother of seven beautiful children. Domestic at heart, she was unwavering in her dedication to foster a Christian home filled with love, joy, and strong values.

From a very young age, Mrs. Daniels was nurtured in the Word of God. As a youth, she professed her faith and belief in Jesus Christ and began her Christian journey. Upon relocating to Arlington, Georgia, she united with the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church of Arlington, Georgia, where she remained until her death. Over the years, she served faithfully in numerous capacities, to include Mother of the church until her declining health prevented her attendance. She was a vessel who was deeply rooted and grounded in the Lord. Her favorite Scriptures were Palms 23 and John 14:1-7 and her favorite Hymn was “A Charge to Keep I Have.”.

Committed and loving, mother, great and great- grandmother, aunt, friend and neighbor. Mrs. Daniels lived a rich and rewarding life. She had a kind heart, a very generous spirit, and her home was a safe haven for many who walked through her doors. In her leisure time even after retirement, she enjoyed fishing, growing beautiful flowers, quilting, crocheting, canning foods and many other hobbies.

She was predeceased in death by her parents; her husband; two children, Otis Daniels, Jr./Rubye M., and Jessie Lee Brown Pratt Davis; and her two siblings, Addie McLeod/Leola, and Jake Brown.

Loving memories will forever remain in the hearts of her children, Annie Doris Daniels (Albany, GA), Mary N. Stringer (Benny - West Palm Beach, FL) Betty Jean Lumpkin (Albany, GA), Lindbergh Daniels and Johnny Daniels (Cincinnati, OH); Eighteen grandchildren, (three deceased) and twenty six great grandchildren (two deceased); two nieces, a nephew, special cousins Lonnie and Velma Jefferson and a host of other cousins and sorrowing friends.

    I was saddened to learn that Mrs. Daniels had passed away. Memories of her as a neighbor on Davis St. came to mind. She was a kind person with a warm smile. It is unfortunate that we are unable to support our friends in these difficult times as we would normally do but know that you are in my prayers.
