Pastor Lydell Lovelace Jr., 68, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at his residence.  He was a graduate of Howard High School, Class of 1969. He worked for the City of Chattanooga for 26 years and retired from the sanitation department in October, 2013.  He owned Lydell’s Fashion Clothing Store and he taught bible study at various places in the community. He was a member of Hamlett Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church for 50 years and New Vernon Grove Baptist Church for 10 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lydell Lovelace Sr. and Louise Lovelace. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Joyce Ann Lovelace; son, Lydell (Kimberly) Moore; daughters, Shawanna (Tommy) Stewart, Gwenzella Chandler, and Lisa (Derek) Grant; siblings, Debra Colvin, Joann McClary, Diane Mason, Yvonne Hairston, James Lovelace, William Lovelace; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; devoted granddaughter, Karissa Marshall; and a host of family and friends. He will lie in state from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at the funeral home. A private funeral service will be held. Interment: Forest Hills Cemetery. Arrangements by John P.
