Mr. David Hunter, 72, of Leesburg, Georgia departed this life Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at his residence in Leesburg, Georgia. Graveside service will be Saturday, May 9, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in the Floral Memory Gardens, 120 Old Pretoria Road in Albany, Georgia. Funeral will be attended by immediate family ONLY. Meadows Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

David Hunter, affectionately known as “Baeyae” was born September 20, 1947 in Russell County, Alabama. He departed this life on May 5, 2020. He graduated from Comer Vocational High School in Eufaula, Alabama in the class of 1965. He was saved at an early age. He was a faithful member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and served as President of Usher Board #1 and a member of the Leadership team.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Deacon Richard Hunter Sr. and Annie Hunter, the twins, one sister, Gladys Johnson and one brother Edward Hunter. He was married to Verdell Hunter and to this union, one child was born. His marriage to Irene Hunter resulted in three children.

Growing up on the family farm taught him the value of sacrifice and hard work. He enjoyed crappie fishing, classic western movies and hunting.

He leaves to cherish his memories; a loving wife Irene Hunter, a beautiful daughter Yovonda Hunter (New York, NY), three sons Terrence Hunter (Tallahassee, FL), Prentiss Hunter (Albany, GA), Steven Hunter (Phoenix, AZ), two sisters, Christine (James) Brown (Youngstown, OH) and Marie Seaborne, four brothers Rev. Richard (Tinnie) Hunter Jr. (Eufaula, AL), Otis (Marie) Hunter (Atlanta, GA), Horace Hunter (Atlanta, GA), Ernest (Saunique) Hunter, three grandchildren, Jonathan Hunter (Smyrna, GA), Jaylin Manning and Prentiss Hunter Jr. (Cleveland, OH); and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
