Mr. Harold "Hairboo" Waters, 74, of Albany, Georgia departed this life Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia. Graveside service will be Friday, April 24, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. in the Union Memorial Park Cemetery in Albany, Georgia. Funeral will be attended by immediate family ONLY. Meadows Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Harold Waters, beloved son of the late George Waters, Jr. and the late Viola Williams-Waters was born May 14, 1945 in Albany, Ga. He was educated in the Dougherty Co. Public School System in Albany, Georgia. At an early age he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.  "Hairboo" as he was affectionately called was loving, talkative, friendly and above all he had an infectious humor. It was never a dull moment when he was in your midst.  He was a father, brother, uncle, cousin, God-father and friend who touched many lives. His joy came from playing cards and enjoying his family and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Geselda (Kipi) Middlebrook; sisters, Delois Crawford, Lilla B. Knighton, Ann L. Guest; brother, George Waters, III.  Harold leaves to cherish his memories: daughters, Toni P. Barnes, Albany, California, Shanjuania D. Barnes, Atlanta, Ga, Rebecca Lowe, Albany, Georgia; son, San Juan(Dorothy) Barnes, Valdosta, Ga; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; step mother, Lillie Mae Waters; sisters, Jonnie(David)Thomas, Byron, Ga, Tanja Waters-Lee, Valdosta, Ga, Donna(Ben) McMiller, Albany, Ga; brothers, Charles(Ester) Waters, Portland, Oregon, Morris(Ozzie) Waters, Irvington, NJ, Willie(Sandra)Thomas, Albany, Ga; Gloria Sweet, devoted fiancée; Delois W. Harvey and Ida Barnes, mother of his children and lifelong friends; Elizabeth Keith-Gibson, god-daughter; Curtis McKinney, best friend; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends who he loved dearly.
