Tula Mae Tate Davis, born November 10, 1925 in Sequatchie Valley, TN, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2020 in Chattanooga, TN. During her lifetime she worked as a Chattanooga Police Officer in the Traffic Division, at Tomlinson’s Restaurant, and managed Pezzi’s Clothing Store. Tula, known also as “Tootie, ToTo, Aunt Tula or Mom” because she always filled the shoes of a second Mom to all of her nieces and nephews. One of her favorite things was helping to take care of children for their parents. She became “Aunt ToTo” by Brandon Wyatt and Tyler Gilliam from babies through their adolescent and adult life. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Ronald Edward Davis; two stepsons, Paul Anthony Davis and Randal Scott; goddaughter, Patrice Fisher, Smyrna, GA; many nieces, nephews and friends. A private service was held April 17, 2020. Interment was in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Arrangements by John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
