Mr. Bruce Henry Ford, 62, of Albany, Georgia departed this life Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany, Georgia. Graveside services will be held 2:00 P. M. Saturday, April 18, 2020 at  Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Bailey Road, Cobb, Georgia. The Funeral will be attended by immediate family ONLY. Meadows Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bruce Henry Ford was born on February 16, 1958 in Donalsonville, Georgia the third child of five, to the late John Henry and Corine Bowden Ford, Jakin, Georgia in Early County, Georgia. Bruce confessed and accepted Christ at an early age, he received his Christian training at St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Jakin, Georgia. When he moved to Albany Georgia, Bruce continued to serve the Lord as a Deacon at St. Stephens Baptist Church. Later, he joined the body of Christ at Second Mount Zion Baptist Church in Albany Georgia. Bruce attended public school in Early County, Georgia and he graduated in 1976 from Early County High School. From there, he attended Albany State University. In 1983, he enlisted and served in the United States Marine Corps. He also served in the United States Army Reserve and the National Guard. Bruce was employed and retired from the State of Georgia Department of Corrections after thirty years. Bruce devoted much of his time to family and church. He loved to cook and bake his favorite pound cake for family and friends. Bruce was also a caregiver to his mother as well as volunteering at the senior citizens center. The spirit of the Lord showed compassion and relieved Bruce from all pain and worry. He called Bruce home on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. Sleep on beloved and take your rest; the act of God we do not question for he along knows best. He leaves a legacy of love and many fond memories to his beloved family which includes a loving and devoted wife, together for five years, Gwenette Ruff Ford; loving mother, Mrs. Corine Ford, Jakin GA; three loving children, Ricardo Ford, Sr., Brittany Ford and lmorri Ford, all of Albany, GA and two devoted step daughters, Sharonda McCray, Norcross, GA and Tia McCray, Cordele, GA; two brothers and two loving and devoted sisters, Robert (Veita) Ford, Jakin, GA, Bernard (Stephanie) Ford, Albany, GA, Christine (Charles) Felder, Montgomery, AL, Amanda Ford, Jakin, GA; eight grandchildren, Kawambee Young , Statesboro, GA, Angel Ford, Ricarra Ford, Chelsie Ford, Ricardo Ford, Jr. and Kamryn Tooson, all of Albany, GA, Riley and Caden McCray, Cordele, GA; great-granddaughter: Kaliegha Crayton, Statesboro, GA; two loving aunts, Roxie Davis and Earlyne Ford, both of Jakin, GA; loving mother-in-law, Mrs. Sidney Ruff, Cordele, GA; three brothers-in-law and four loving and caring sisters-in-law, Daniel David, Eatonton, GA; Alfred Hayes, Lesile GA, Paul (Denise) Ruff, Cordele GA, Rachel Haynes, Atlanta, GA, Mattie (Fred) Peavy, Cordele, GA; Betty Powell and Annette Ruff, Cordele, GA; loving and caring friend, Lonnie and (Angela) Jones, Jacksonville FL.
