Mr. Johnny Russell, 75, of Albany, Georgia departed this life Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be attended by immediate family ONLY on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Albany, Georgia. Meadows Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Johnny Russell, affectionately known as “Chill” to his family and friends, was born August 22, 1944, in Albany, Georgia. He was the son of the late Johnny Herrington and Catherine Herrington. Johnny Russell was educated in the public schools of Dougherty County, Albany, Georgia. He obtained his GED in the U.S. Army and 2 years of college from Meadows College. He enlisted in the U. S. Army and served 23 years before retiring. He worked at the U. S. Postal Service as a mail handler for 15 years and retired. Johnny Russell departed this life on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at Phoebe Putney Hospital. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Josephine Russell; son, Johnny Russell, Jr.; daughter, Joivonna K. Thompson; four brothers, Jessie James Russell, Robert Herrington, Carl Herrington and Sidney Herrington; three sisters, Zoe Ann Anthony, Mary A. Tinson and Kathy J. Davis; four grandsons; four granddaughters; and three great grandchildren.

    I would like to send my condolences, to the family, his wife, daughter, and son,grandkids, I'm so sorry for your lost ,words can't express the way you must feel right now. But as a family we all have the comfort that my uncle is no longer suffering or in pain.i always think of this scripture when a love one dies Revalation 21:3,4were it talks about death begin no more ,no more sickness, pain and that God is going to do away with all that, such a wonderful thought and promises from God, so you rest assure that he will do just as he said he will, i really hope and pray you fine comfort in this bible vearse.
