Mother Mary Lee Johnson, 90, of Albany, Georgia departed this life Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany, Georgia. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 13, 2020 at 3:00 P.M. from the Greater Cutliff Grove Baptist Church, 835 W. Broad Avenue, Albany, Georgia.  Rev. McKinley Drake is the pastor and will provide the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Floral Memory Gardens, 120 Old Pretoria Road, Albany, Georgia. Her remains will lie in state at the church Friday from 2:00 P.M. until the service hour. The family will receive relatives and friends at 923 Barbragale Avenue, Albany, Georgia. Meadows Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mary Lee Johnson was born on November 9, 1929, in Dougherty County, Georgia, to Mr. Henry Williams and Mrs. Agnes Hill Williams. She departed this earthly journey on March 8, 2019.She united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Thomas Johnson on August 13, 1949.Sister Johnson was preceded in death by her father, Henry Williams; mother, Agnes Hill Williams, brother, Solomon Edward Jones, and sister, Martha B. Williams.The legacy of her season is left to her sister, Elmatha Williams Burton. She leaves to cherish her memories: four children, Mr. Synster Allen Johnson, Mrs. Myrtle Celine (Collins S.) Jackson, Mrs. Tekeela Sabrina (John E.) Austin, and Mr. Duane Edward Cartwright; a niece she helped to raise, Dr. Sharon L. Burton; four grandchildren, Gwen Johnson, Wanda Cooper, Theopulis O. Jackson, and Wykesia T. Jackson; three great grandchildren, Ron Cooper, Ronald Cooper, and De’Kesia T. Jackson; a grand-niece, Yoshino W. (Cameron R.) White; and a great grand-nephew, Solomon R. White. Also celebrating is a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, plus great grand nieces and nephews from her brother, Solomon Edward (Lucille) Jones.
