Ms. Margie Ree Love, 77, of Albany, Georgia departed this life Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany, Georgia. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. from the C K Smith Memorial Presbyterian Church, 501 Mercer Ave, Albany, GA 31701. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Memorial Cemetery, Highway 300, Oakfield, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Margie’s Alma  Mater, Alabama State University at https://www.alasu.edu/giving. Areas of interest to her would include “Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Scholarship” under the Scholarships tab or “Student Aid” under Gift Designation tab. Margie Ree Barker Love, 77, of Albany, Georgia, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2020, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.She was born on December 10, 1942, in Perote -Bulloch County, Alabama, the eldest daughter of Ralph Barker and Alberta Foster Barker. As a youth, she professed her faith, was baptized and joined First Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama.Margie attended Alabama State University where she pledged at the Beta Eta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and in 1963 graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.On December 27, 1964, in Montgomery, Alabama, Margie R. Barker was wed to Cleo Love. Margie Love taught at Coachman Park Elementary, Morningside Elementary and Lake Park Elementary Schools in Albany, Georgia, culminating a 34-year career inspiring students with retirement in 1997.Margie was a member at C. K. Smith Memorial Presbyterian Church in Albany, Georgia. She was a skilled gardener, dedicated wife, mother, sister, and loyal friend who greeted all with a smile. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with family as well as farming in her retirement. She is survived by her three sons, Drew Love of Albany, GA, Darryl Love of Alexandria, VA, and Dexter Love of Moultrie, GA; brother, Jimmy Barker of Montgomery, AL and sister, Gayloyd Barker Scott of Albany, GA; sisters-in-law, Queen Esther Williams Barker of Montgomery, AL; Ann Walker Barker of Montgomery, AL; L. Irene Hunter of Trenton, NJ; two brothers-in law, Clinton Love of Trenton, NJ, and Samuel Love of Bristol, PA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Cleo Love, her parents and her brothers, Napoleon Barker, and Ralph Barker, Jr.Her personal ministry extended to sharing the bounties of her harvests with neighbors, family and friends
