The funeral service for Elsie Brooks has been RESCHEDULED due to inclement weather.  The service will now be held at 11 am Monday, February 10, 2020 in the funeral home chapel.

On Sunday, February 2, 2020 the Lord gently whispered, “Peace Be Thine” and Elsie Arnold Brooks entered into eternal rest. Elsie was born in Chattanooga, TN on September 6, 1929 to the late Willie & Lizzie Arnold. She was educated in the Chattanooga Public School System.  She was employed with Mr. Nick Center for many years.  She was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Paul McDaniel.  She was known for her stylish dressing and love for her jewelry.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Willie Mae Freeman, Jack Muckle, Eunice Hurt, Ernestine Hampton; nephews, Malvin and Edward Davis; niece, Carrie Smith; great nephew, Mark Hammond.

She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories brother, Willie “Axel” Arnold, Jr.; niece, Barbara Davis; great nephews, Edwin (Lori) Hammond, Desmond (Aquanetta) Smith; great niece, Dewuanna Crutcher, all of Chattanooga, great great nephews, other relatives and friends. Public viewing will begin at 9:00 am Monday, February 10, 2020, followed by aa funeral service at 11:00 am in the chapel.  Interment:  Highland Memorial Gardens Arrangements by John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 423-622-9995.
