Eddie Shields Smith, 62, passed away Friday, January 3, 2020 in Chattanooga.  He was born July 25, 1957 to James and Wilma Tate Smith.  He was raised in Chattanooga and attended Riverside High School.  For many years, he worked as a Chef at the Chattanooga Read House and for the past fifteen years, he dedicated his life to serving others as a self employed caregiver.  Eddie was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, James and Wilma Smith; brother, Gerald Cook; sisters, Gloria Cook and Geraldine Cook. He leaves to cherish his memories, son, Antoniye Isbell; daughters, Shaneetha Stargell, Shamela Smith; sister, Julia Wise; brother, Darryl Smith; grandchildren, Shaqeetha Jennings, Serenity Holiday; four great grandchildren; a very special friend, Sarah Mayes and a host of other relatives and friends. Public viewing will begin at 9:00 am Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the funeral home, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm.  Interment: Lakewood Memory Gardens – East.  Arrangements by John P.
