Ezra Fredrick Conyers, Jr. transitioned to his eternal home in heaven, on Friday, December 27, 2019. His caring and loving wife of 32 years and his family were vigilant by his side during and after his transition. Fred was born on May 21, 1937 in Chattanooga, TN and is preceded in death by his parents Mr. Ezra and Mrs. Lillian Conyers, brother Calvin Conyers and sister Doretha Moore. Fred was educated in Chattanooga TN graduating from Howard High School, in 1955. He worked as a Master Barber for many years, taught art classes and him and his wife enjoyed a business, “Two of a Kind”, they worked as a team, no matter the endeavor. They traveled and enjoyed each other’s company in everything that they set out to do. He was affectionately known as Fred and Papa to the grandchildren. He had a strong, rambunctious and commanding voice, but to those who knew and loved him understood him and knew of his loving, caring, kind, giving and humble spirit. Fred was very astute in God’s Word; he loved to study and teach the Word and share it with others.  He witnessed to everyone who crossed his path; grocery stores, post office, bank, streets or wherever. He was an active and very involved member of Hawkinsville Missionary Baptist Church, for over 21 years, where he served on the Board of Trustees, Teacher of the Noon Day Bible Study Class, Art Designer for church Plays, Co-chair Men’s Ministry, Member of the Building Committee, volunteer on Beautification Committee,  Member of the Golden Harvest Ministry and served in several areas of church where needed, prior to his failing health. Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved and devoted wife, Joycelyn Goolsby; his children Lorraine, Hope and Faith of Acworth, GA and Lakesha, Tyshon, Keymon and Mikail of Chattanooga, TN, and his family of California. Edward and Carolyn Jones committed in-laws- of Chattanooga, TN and Rubye Morton, a praying and caring sister-in-law of Landover, MD and many many other dearly loved relatives and friends. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020, at 1 o’clock pm, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home Chapel, 1101 Dodds Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37404.
