Mr. Jerry Jerome McNickles, 50

Jerry “Jerome” McNickles was born on March 1, 1969 to Georgia Mae Truesdell and the late Lewis McNickles.  After graduating in 1987, Jerome enlisted in the United States Army. He was stationed in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, where he became a trained electrician. In 1989, Jerome was honorably discharged. While residing in Miami, Jerome joined New Birth Missionary Baptist Church and was twice married.

In March 2016, Jerome relocated to Adel, Georgia.  He began working at Magnolia Nursing Facility and Chaparral Boats. He also found a new church home at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. He passed away on September 18, 2019 at his home.

Jerome is survived by his mother: Georgia Mae Truesdell (Adel, GA), son: Devon Jerome (Ale) McNickles (Denver, CO), sisters: Sebrina Rene’ (Don) Taylor (Miami, FL), Shirley McNickles (Waynesboro, MS), Linda Whitfield (Waynesboro, MS), Pamela (James) Owens (Waynesboro, MS), Sharon (John) Williams (Miami, FL), Janay (Dionte) Ford (Miami, FL) and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Sparks, Georgia with Pastor Ronnie Brinson officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Pavo. Condolences may be made by visiting stevensmcgheefuneralhome.com  Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
