Barbara Ann Harris Yates, 67, of 2455 Hwy. 55 W, New Bern died Monday, October 14, 2019 at Kindred Hospital, Greensboro.

Family and friends may express condolences at the residence.

Her funeral service is 1:30 PM, Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Pleasant Hill AMEZ Church 951 NC Hwy. 55 W.  The interment will follow at the Gatlin Family Cemetery.

She is survived by two sons, James Yates, III and Sheldon Yates both of New Bern; one daughter, Telina Yates, New Bern; four brothers, Walter Harris, New Bern, Jeff Fields, Baltimore, MD, James Fields, Greensboro, NC, Ira "Big Shot" Harris, Baltimore, MD; three sisters, Carol Elliott, Durham, Rhonda Dawson, Vanceboro, Deirdre Thomas, Bayboro, NC, Deabra Harrison, Wilkesberry, PA; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
