MR. BUNYON TYSON, SR.

Bunyon Develle Tyson Sr. was born on December 30, 1967 to M. Patricia Ingram and the late Fredrick Ingram.  He was reared and raised by the late Rev. Leon Junior Tyson and the late Hannah Marshall-Tyson in Wadesboro, NC.

His mother, Patricia, would visit him and adored spending time with him.  She enjoyed his singing rendition of Elvis Presley’s “You Ain’t Nothing But A Hound Dog” at an early age.  He would perform for her every time she arrived.  It was evident of how talented he would be.

Bunyon gave his life to Christ at an early age at Garris Grove Baptist Church where he began singing for the Lord.  He received his education in the public schools of Anson County where he played, coached and brought life to any ball he touched.  He had several victories with his team.  He was a truly a team player.

In April 1994, he married Katricia Allen.  Due to circumstances, they divorced but remained friends.

Bunyon was well-known for his charm, smile, charisma and inspirational psalmist voice.  He was closed to everyone and made everyone feel like they were his best friends.  He was very kind to people and would always have a joke to say to make you laugh.

He had various jobs and was a hardworking man.  He was a family man and he loved his family, especially his mother and his children.  He departed this life to enter his Heavenly Home.  He will truly be missed.

He is now united with his children, Leon Jr., Prince Shane and Princess Shana and grandchildren, Longin and Fanci who preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories, his loving mother, M. Patricia Ingram-Basnight; his children, Bunyon Jr. (Marcelle), Devell, Jordan, D’Angelo (Jasmine), D’vonne, Ali, Jatabian, Kelila, Trevon, Lanyah, Fredrick (Whitney), Xavier, Geavonte, Nakeya and Nakiya; grandchildren, Xavier, Ariele, Fanicyi and Kynzlee; his long-time special friend, Carla Willoughby; his siblings, Montra, Sharinatl, Larry, Cherri, Tanesha, Lauree, Vacory, Antinia, Tony, Carlos, Chianti, Brittani, Armond, Diamond, Khadeja Kelly and Travis; aunts and uncles; special cousins, Helen Tillman, Billy Tyson, Michael Wall, Eric Tillman, Rev. Tobias Wall, Timothy Marshall, Berlena (Sam) Staton, Rodney and Randy Staton.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.

The Services to Celebrate the Life and Legacy of Mr. Tyson were held on Thursday, October 3, 2019, 3:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina.  Burial followed at Westview Memorial Park.
