Edward (Ed) Gaddy, son of the late General Gaddy and Cora Gainey Gaddy, the ninth of eleven children, was born on October 19, 1929 in Anson County.  He transitioned peacefully to his eternal home on August 18, 2019.

Edward attended Anson County Schools.  He worked and retired from Little's Manufacturing in Wadesboro, NC after several years of dedicated service.

At a young age, he joined Deep Creek Baptist Church.

He was an avid gardener and loved planting, harvesting and working in his garden and working on his cars.  He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends.

Edward was united in Holy Matrimony to Dora Cox Gaddy and to this union seven children were born.  Dora preceded him in death on April 1, 2013.

Edward was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; his son, Joe Edward Gaddy; his daughter, Jewery Gaddy Royal; his granddaughter, Anndriel Hartavia Royal; his grandson, Antoine Gregory; his brothers, Watt Gaddy, Hardie Gaddy, General (Gee) W. Gaddy, Clayton Gaddy, Eugene Gaddy and Howard Gaddy; his sisters, Ollie Mae Gaddy Hubbard, Jewery Gaddy Gardner, Edith Gaddy Cash and Claretha Gaddy Rorie.

Edward leave to cherish his legacy: his daughters, Edna Johnson (Napoleon), Cora Little (Alexander), both of Charlotte, NC, Tina Young (James) of Greensboro, NC; his sons, Paul Gaddy (Ivey) of Charlotte, NC and Peter Gaddy of Raleigh, NC; and son-in-law, Harvey Royal of Wadesboro, NC.

He loved and cherished his nineteen grandchildren:  Cynthia Boggan, William Little II, Sanchez Johnson, Chambrea Little Daniels (David), Anthony Johnson, Napoleon Gregory (Alesia), Mario Johnson (Jocelyn), Monique Gaddy, Carlos Johnson, Janel Young James Young Jr., Deidre Gaddy, Crystal Little Nicholson (Vincent), Tihreek Royal, Paul Gaddy Jr., Gina Royal, Briana Minor, Ivan Gaddy, Justin Royal and his twenty-six great grandchildren.

He also leaves two brothers-in-law, Larion Caraway and Leak Hubert Caraway (Elizabeth); three sisters-in-law, Esther Witherspoon, Burnette Williams, and Linda Thomas; devoted cousin, Jim Little; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Homegoing Services were held on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, 1:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina.  Interment followed in Westview Memorial Park, Highway 74-West, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
