Funeral services for Mrs. Breda Patterson Morris, 60, will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at The Word Center Ministries. Dr. Darius Williams is the pastor. Pastor Timothy Caldwell will be the eulogist. Interment will be in Midway Memory Gardens. Mrs. Morris will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, August 9, 2019 from 5-7 p.m.

Mrs. Breda Patterson Morris was born on January 17, 1959 to the late Willie Patterson and the late Hattie Mae Burroughs Patterson in Talladega, Alabama.

Mrs. Morris accepted Christ at an early age and united with Belview Missionary Baptist Church where she served as an administrative assistant as well as a member of the choir. Breda later united with The Word Center Ministries under the leadership of Dr. Darius Williams. She was a 1977 graduate of Talladega High School, furthered her education at Gadsden State Community College and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville State University. Breda was employed as a nurse at Citizens Hospital and retired in 2002 from Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama. 

Breda accepted the Master’s call on Monday, August 5, 2019 while she was a patient at St. Vincent’s Hospital. She was preceded in passing by her son, Prince Rogers Patterson; parents, Willie and Hattie Patterson; two brothers, Donald Patterson and Patrick Patterson; and one sister, Virginia Patterson.

She leaves to mourn her passing: her husband, Gary Morris of Talladega, Alabama; three daughters, Sarina (Lindsey) Hall of Birmingham, Alabama, Dinah Spansk of Talladega, Alabama and Candice Spansk of Lake Placid, Florida; ten grandchildren; five sisters, Marion Beck and Vivian White of Avon Park, Florida, Jessie Stevens of Douglasville, Georgia, Bettye Patterson of Gadsden, Alabama and Barbara Jenkins of Talladega, Alabama; four brothers, Willie Patterson, Curtis (Rita) Patterson and John Patterson of Talladega, Alabama and Jerome (Maira) Patterson of Avon Park, Florida; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
