Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Mae Garrett Grant, 85, will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at St. Campbell Baptist Church. Minister Shasta Nettles will be the eulogist. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Grant will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Martha Mae Garrett Grant was born on Monday, July 23, 1934 to the union of Clyde Morris and Essie Dates Green in Talladega County, Alabama. 

Mrs. Grant attended Christ Deliverance Christian Center. She was a graduate of Talladega County Training School. Martha retired as a supervisor from Short Hill Mall in Newark, New Jersey with many years of dedicated service.

Martha departed this earthly life on the evening of Friday, July 26, 2019 at Citizens Baptist Medical Center. She was preceded in passing by her husband, Jimmie Grant; four sons, Michael Garrett, Morris Garrett, James Grant and Larry Grant; five sisters, Linda Andrews, Minnie Green, Jessie Morris, Edna Green and Essie Ree Green; and two brothers, Clyde Morris and Marion Green.

Mrs. Grant leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters, Vina Louise Garrett of Alpine, Alabama, Sandy Garrett of Talladega, Alabama and Debra (James) Phillips of Lincoln, Alabama; three sons, Gary Grant of East Orange, New Jersey, Tommy (Marie) Garret of Decatur, Georgia and Lee Curtis (Dorothy) Garrett of Talladega, Alabama; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren; one sister, Ophelia Dudley of Detroit, Michigan; two brothers, John (Joyce) Green of Arizona and Noah (Laverne) Green of Atlanta, Georgia; one special cousin, Elmer Calloway of Alpine, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
