I am home in Heaven, dear ones; Oh, so happy and so bright!  There is perfect joy and beauty in this everlasting light.  All the pain and grief is over every restless tossing passed; I am at peace forever Safely home in Heaven at last.

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Mother-in-law, Sister, Aunt and Friend, Mrs. Loretta Knotts Christon was born July 30, 1939 to the late Clinton Knotts and Georgia Knotts.  She departed her life July 22, 2019 at home with her family by her side.

Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Christon, brother, Nathaniel Knotts and sister, Peggy Chambers.

Loretta attended East Polkton High School.  She worked in the manufacturing industries, drove a bus for the Anson County Public Schools and was the Owner/Operator of Kids World Daycare.  She had a kind infectious/robust heart, making you feel comfortable and welcome in her home.  She was a honorable woman who spoke her mind by trying to lead you in the direction of the Holy Spirit.  Loretta loved her family, especially her grandsons, Fred Jr. and Marcus.

Loretta confessed Christ at an early age and continued to walk in faith until the end.  Loretta was a faithful member of Kesler Chapel AME Zion Church where she served on the Usher Board, Lay Counsel, Stewardess Board, Christian Education, Missionary and Deaconess.  She was honored as Keslar Chapel Woman Of The Year in 2007.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Fred Christon (Deborah); one daughter, Teresa Christon (Mike) both of Wadesboro, NC.  Two grandsons, Fred Christon Jr. of Charlotte, NC and Marcus Christon of Washington, DC.  Three brothers, Paul Knotts of Fayetteville, NC and Dennis Knotts of Wadesboro, NC and James Knotts of Baltimore, MD.  Two sisters, Florine Mackey (Tina) and Pam Rorie (Roger).  Three aunts, Bernice, Betty and Annie.  Two uncles, Fred Knotts of Polkton, NC and Risden Knotts of Charlotte, NC.  Two special friends, Margaret Hugley and Margaret Ridenhour.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

The Homegoing Services were held on Saturday, July 27, 2019, 11:00am, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina.  Burial followed in Westview Memorial Park, Highway 74-West, Wadesboro, North Carolina.

Florine, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Loretta. I appreciated the opportunity to know her and her children. "For if we have faith that Jesus died and rose again, so too God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in death through Jesus." (1 Thess. 4:14) May this promise bring comfort to you and the family during this most difficult time.
