Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, 315 South Madison Street, Albany, Georgia. Rev. Calvin Rollins, will provide the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church #3 Cemetery, 108 Piney Grove Church Road, Leesburg, Georgia.

Mr. Albert Flowers, Jr. was born on April 11, 1962 in Albany, Georgia to the late Albert Flowers, Sr. ad the late Louise Bryant Flowers.

At an early age, Albert gave his life to Christ. Albert was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at the young age of eight years old. He never had the opportunity to attend High School and attended Easter Seal where he excelled in all his studies and was awarded countless awards. He became the poster child for Albany Easter Seal local branch.

Before he was diagnosed with this disease, Albert was a typical little boy who loved playing baseball, boys scout, playing with trucks and he loved collecting comic books. Every summer he would spend at his grandmother Gert’s house in Smithville, Georgia. Spending time with family is one thing he always loved doing.

Albert was bedridden by the time he turned thirteen. Albert did not have any siblings, so he depended on all his cousins for that bonding and support. His late cousin, Reginald Flowers, was the brother that he always longed for. They had a bond so strong that they could sense when something wasn’t right with each other.

After losing his mother in May 2016 ad then Reginald in August 2018 was hard on Albert, but as he lay in his bed with his fragile, frail body, I see this strong man holding on to his faith that he would see them again one day. Albert was a ma with a kind and gentle heart that had a strong unconditional love for his family and friends. He always called to make sure everyone was okay. Albert would not go to sleep until Rita would come home around 2:00 a.m., just to make sure she was safe inside her home. He would call me when he knew Ricky was gone to make sure I was home safe too. Albert’s last words to me was; I Love You Truly!

We all have our own personal stories about how Albert showed us love and compassion, because that was who Albert was. To my family the Bryant & Flowers, Albert loved us all unconditional, and he was my inspiration to love as hard and as long as you can, even when you don’t get the same in return. Keep your head up, now we have another angel watching over us.

Albert leaves to mourn, his aunts, Rosie Flowers, Albany, GA, Viola Harris, Detroit, MC, Mamie Lee Bryant, Leesburg, GA; cousins, Rita Fritts Bryant (Arthur), Gertrude Cross (Ricky), Mattie Wright (Morris), Charles Bryant (Patricia), Marilyn Flowers, Solomon Flowers, all of Albany, GA and a host of cousins from the Bryant and Flowers family and friends.
