Funeral services for Mr. Walter Lewis Calhoun, 61, will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. Rev. Terry Wilson is the pastor. Rev. Charles Garrett will be the eulogist. Interment will be in Moore Cemetery. Mr. Calhoun passed away on July 16, 2019.

Walter Lewis Calhoun was born September 22, 1957 to the union of James Edward Calhoun and Annie Jo Lawson Calhoun in Talladega County, Alabama.
Mr. Calhoun confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church. She was a 1975 graduate of Talladega County Training School. Walter was employed with Crown Textiles, Camp Cosby and Labor Local #559. On February 28, 2011, Walter and the former Joyce Rena Martin united in holy matrimony.

On the Tuesday, July 16, 2019, Walter was called to his new Heavenly home on high. He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Calhoun; a brother, Harry Charles Calhoun; and a brother-in-law, Johnny Jenkins.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 8 years, Joyce R. Calhoun of Birmingham, Alabama; his mother, Annie Jo Calhoun of Alpine, Alabama; three daughters, Warneshia Wallace of Phoenix, Arizona, Ranasha Martin of Luverne, Alabama and Tawanica Wolf of Carrollton, Georgia; four sons, Walter Wolf of Carrollton, Georgia, Karey (Wanda Ann) Lawson of Chattanooga, Tennessee,  Christopher Martin and Ivan White of Birmingham, Alabama; one special grandson, Karion Lawson of Talladega, Alabama; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild; five sisters, Mae Francis Jenkins of Munford, Alabama, Beverly (Tommy) Swain of Talladega, Alabama, Millerneace (Cary) Swain of Alpine, Alabama, Janice (Andre) Phillips of Talladega, Alabama and Carolyn (Kenneth) Richmond of Alpine, Alabama; three brothers, John Henry (Brenda) Calhoun, Roger (Frances) Calhoun and Perry (Annette) Calhoun all of Alpine, Alabama; one sister-in-law, Laura Calhoun of Talladega, Alabama; two special friends, Larissa Garrett and Anthony Zampelli; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
