On July 5, 2019, God, in his infinite wisdom called Bonnie Gibson Jr., of Greensboro NC to his Heavenly home.  His funeral will be held 12:30PM on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Woodard Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Shelock Bynum of Good News Baptist Church officiating. Visitations will start 30min prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Park.

He was born on March 25, 1943 in Laurinburg NC, to the late Bonnie Gibson, Sr and Willie Mae Brown. Bonnie graduated high school in Essex, NJ, where he played in the band and ran track.  After high school he entered the Air Force and served for 8 years until his honorable discharge with the rank of Staff Sargent. Bonnie's professional career included management of several retail establishments which transitioned to a printing career that started at Rexham Corporation and concluded with many years of service to the City of Greensboro as a Master Printer before retirement.

Before Bonnie entered the Air-Force he met and married Annie Ruth Alexander. They have 3 loving children Lisa Diane Howard, Bonnie Gibson III, and Ann Cheryl Gibson. Bonnie and Annie Ruth were married for 20 years until Annie Ruth’s untimely death in November of 2003.

Left to cherish Bonnie’s loving memory are his mother, Willie Mae Brown; his children, Lisa Diane Howard, Bonnie Gibson III (Stephanie), and Ann Cheryl Gibson; grandchildren, Willie Howard III, Stephen Alexander (Adia), Josh Howard, Jamie Howard, Brion McClerkin, Jevon Elliott, and Lauren Patterson; great-grandchildren, Elijah Howard, Ezra Alexander, Arianna Alexander, Jeremiah Howard, and Stephen Alexander Jr. and a host of extended family and friends who have been touched by his gentle spirit and unwavering loyalty.

Woodard Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
