Louise Grimes O’Bannon, 79, retired Photo Lab administrator at Pensacola Naval Air Station, transitioned on July 5th 2019, at her home in Pensacola, FL.

She was a graduate of Howard High Class of 1958. While traveling the world as a military wife, she received her Associate of Arts degree from Troy State University. She was a devoted member and Treasurer of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Pensacola, FL.

She loved traveling and seeing the world and was blessed to travel and live in many locations including Germany, France, Luxembourg, and from coast to coast in the United States. She especially loved her time in Alaska, New Mexico, Maryland and Washington DC. She was affectionately known by her four grandchildren, whom she cherished dearly, as simply “Mema”.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Malvin Grimes and Elizabeth M. McKissic; brothers, Anthony J. Grimes and Cleveland T. Grimes.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Tracey LeBron Madison of Pensacola, FL; her daughters, Eugenia Shirlene Bone of Lorton, VA and Alecia Mischelle Dupont (Lyndon) of Orlando, FL; five brothers, George (Awanda) Grimes, Lincoln, Del., Melvin (Dorothy) Grimes, Albert (Diane) Grimes, Jesse (Belinda) Grimes, Jeffery Grimes, all of Chattanooga, TN; six sisters, Addie (James) Hill, Upper Marlboro, Md.; Denise (Marvin) Smith; Ooltewah, TN; Renee Clack, Panama City Beach, Fla.; Sara Grimes, Chattanooga, TN; sister in law Mary Grimes, Knoxville, TN; four grandchildren Richard Michael Madison of Putnam, FL; JeTina Marie Madison of Altamonte Springs, FL; Taylor-Alexis Louise Dupont of Orlando, FL/New York, NY; and Lyndon Blaines Dupont II of Orlando, FL; aunt Maggie Grimes, Atlanta, Ga.; uncle, Cleveland (Della) Grimes, Atlanta; cousins who were like sisters Pearl Nesmith (Jerome), Shirley Mathis and a host of other relatives and friends.

According to her wishes, there will be no public viewing.  A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Joe Morris Funeral Home 701 N. De Villiers St. Pensacola FL.  A Graveside service at 10:00 am Saturday July 13th at Hamilton Memorial Gardens, 5401 Highway 153 Hixson, TN. Local arrangements by John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodd’s Avenue, 423-622-9995.
