To the family: Please accept my deepest sympathy during this time. I have very fond memories of Mrs. Ruffin as my 1st grade teacher. She exhibited such patience while teaching me to read and write. I will be forever grateful for her dedication as an exceptional educator.

I want to send my deepest sympathy to the family of Lucy Ruffin. The bible tells us we can gain comfort from God, even during times of sorrow. We can pray to our heavenly father for help to cope with the sorrow felt from the death of a loved one. By prayer and supplication, let your petitions be made known to God; and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6 The bible also promises that God “will wipe out every tear from [our] eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.” (Revelation 21:4) How comforting and reassuring that is! May you find comfort by relying on our heavenly father and learning more about the blessings of God's kingdom. Local ministry volunteer

It has been an honor and delight to have known this beautiful woman. She showed and shared the gift God gave her. May we continue to share the goodness of Jesus Christ as she did. Family stand strong and together I’m glad she called me her girl and friend. She’s resting now. She will be missed but not forgotten.

To the Ruffin family, Mrs. Ruffin, was also one of my favorite church members at St. James Missionary Baptist, l truly enjoyed and will miss chating with Mrs. Ruffin, when was attending church on a regular basis. I will miss sending Mrs. Ruffin our yearly Christmas cards with the pictures of my niece and nephew and that our late mother Mary B. Mann, would request, that one be sent to Mrs. Ruffin also. Mrs. Ruffin, played a very big part in the 5 Mann brothers life, while we were young members at the church. Mrs. Ruffin, would also give words of encouragement. Mrs. Ruffin, also valued a good education. The world was a better place because of Mrs. Ruffin!

Ms Ruffin was my teacher at Willow Grove Elementary School in Whitakers, NC over 48 years ago. She was a great and very sweet teacher. Very sorrow to hear about her transitioning. May we all remember the legacy that she left behind.
