Eldress Shirley Pauline Blango Hackney, 72, of 937 Don Lee Rd., Arapahoe died Thursday, June 27, 2019 at CarolinaEast Medical Center, New Bern.

Viewing hours are 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Oscar's Mortuary.

Her funeral  service is 12:00 PM, Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the New Bern  Eastern Missionary Baptist Association  885 NC Hwy. 36 N, Grantsboro,  The interment will follow at St. John FWB Church Cemetery, Blounts Creek, NC.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Hackney of the home; one son, Calvin Earl Smith, Arapahoe; one brother, Mack Moore, Williamston, NC; three sisters, Pearlie Brown, Chocowinity, NC , Calpaura Martin, Aurora and Rubell Smith of Beaufort County; one grandchild; three great-grandchildren.

    I am sorry to read about your loss. May God’s words in the Bible at Ps 34:18 provide you comfort. The scriptures tells us “HE” is near to those broken at heart, and those crushed in spirit HE saves.
