MS. JEANETTE BURNS

Jeanette Burns was born November 28, 1956 to the late Robert Fulton Burns and Claudia Mae Tillman Burns.  She entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Atrium Health-Union, Monroe, NC.

Jeanette joined Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.  Jeanette was a dedicated member with service as the Missionary President, member of the Usher Board and Culinary Committee.

Jeanette graduated from Bowman High School, Wadesboro, NC in 1975.  She graduated from Barber-Scotia College, Concord, NC with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology in 1980.

While in college, Jeanette joined Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.  Jeanette was employed at West Cassette as a Lab Tech for several years, Metaforge for over 15 years, with final employment at I-TEC until her health declined.

Jeanette leaves to cherish loving memories, one son, Marcus Burns of the home.  Two grandsons, Coydarius Burns of Wadesboro, NC and Isaiah Hammond of Lancaster, SC.  Four brothers, Kermith “Billy” (Martha) Burns, James Burns of the Burnsville Community, Carl Mack (Sarah) Burns of Ansonville, NC and Casper “Joe” (Diana) Burns of Maryland.  Four sisters, Jonas “Sadie” Tillman of Winston-Salem, NC, Polly Mae Burns and Nannie Burns of the Burnsville Community and Peggy Sturdivant of Oakboro, NC.  Three aunts, Mrs. Thelma Burns of the Burnsville Community, Mrs. Effie Mercer of Washington, DC and Mrs. Ruth (John) Davis of Washington, DC.  One goddaughter, Sgt. Shanesha Showers, US Army-Hawaii.  A  host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.  Special friends, Mary Clark, Thomasina “Cookie” Williams, Brenda Brunson, Claudiane Davis and Calven and Tasha Dean.


The Homegoing Services will be on Monday, July 1, 2019, 3:00pm, Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Burnsville Community, Polkton, North Carolina.  Burial followed in the family plot of the church cemetery.

    I had some good days I've had some hills to climb.but all my good days outweigh my bad days so I want complain these words Jeanette would say because God been good to her.Praying for the Burn's family and remember it's alright now she turned it over to Jesus and I know that it is alright now.
