Minister Gladys Jean Mays Wright, 75, of 817 Pavie Avenue, New Bern died Sunday, June 9, 2019 at her home.

The family will friends at the residence.  Viewing hours are Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Oscar's Mortuary., Inc.

Her funeral service is 1:00 PM Thursday, June 13, 2019 at St. John M. B. Church 1130 Walt Bellamy Drive.  Burial will follow in New Bern Memorial Cemetery.

She is survived by her three sons, Herbert Stilley, New Bern, Tony Stilley, Tampa, FL and Jamie Wright, New Bern; three daughters, Shirley Wallace, New Bern, Tanya Cooper, Havelock and Angela Wright, New Bern; three brothers, Jerry Whitfield, Mike Whitfield and Allen Rodgers all of New Bern; four sistes, Evelyn Smith, Debra Jones, Frances Guion and Darnisha Whitfield Wallace all of New Bern; twenty-one grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

    I am sorry to read about your loss. May God’s words in the Bible at Ps 34:18 provide you comfort. The scriptures tells us “HE” is near to those broken at heart, and those crushed in spirit HE saves.

    Earth has no sorrows that heaven can not heal. Our prayers thoughts and hearts are with you for strength healing and understanding during and after this difficult time. It was a pleasure meeting and getting to know Minister Wright. Go get your well deserved crown my sister in Christ. I love you but God loves you best. Sleep in heavenly peace until we meet again.

I hope the family will find some comfort and strength in Jesus promise of the earthly resurrection(Acts 24:15)and the renewed Paradise earth, where death will be no more and no family will mourn the death of a loved one.-Revelation 21:3,4;John 5:28,29;Luke 23:43. may GOD(Psalms 83:18)grant you peace and comfort now, during this grievous time.-Matthew 5:4.
