Mr. Marvin B. Raggins, 64, of Hastings, was born on October 28, 1954 to the late Pernell and Elizabeth Raggins in Palatka, FL.  Marvin received his early education in Hastings, FL at the Walter  E. Harris Elementary and High School where he excelled in academics and sports.  He furthered his education by attending Bethune Cookman College in Daytona Beach, FL.   Marvin learned how to drive trucks from his father at an early age.  In 1974, Marvin started driving trucks with his father in the pulpwood and from then on he continued to drive trucks for Smith Trucking, Burkes Trucking, A& M Trucking, and Anderson Trucking until 2012.  He also volunteered at the Shepherd’s Haven food Pantry.  Marvin was united in Holy matrimony to the love of his life, Vanessa Rosamarie Hackney. Early Saturday Morning, June 1, 2019, God called and Marvin answered the call to a place of peace.

Antonio, Marvinna, and Keith;  Mother-in-law, Alice Cain, Sisters-in-law, Doris Nelson, Brenda Hackney, Paula Hackney, Angela (Sammy), Payne, Arlene (Benjamin) Prince, Armesia and Celinda; Brothers-in-law,
Alphonso Whalen, Robert(Pamela) Hackney, Archie Hackney, and Freddrick (Kelly) Cain; Like sons, Sgt. DeVante (Whitney) Hackney and Marcus Bernard Hackney; Like a Brother, Ray Johnson; Grandchildren, Jae’Don, Jae’Kharri, Jae’Kayla; Aunts, Joyce Freeman, Lucille
Merkerson; Godsister, Jawanika Carr; Godbrother, Karl Kemp, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many
sorrowing friends.

The viewing will be 6p.m. - 8p.m. Friday, June 7, 2019 at Coleman's Mortuary Family Chapel.  The Homegoing Celebration will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Mt. Zion A.M.E. of Hastings, Rev. Steffanie L. Jones, Pastor.  Rev. Pernell Raggins, eulogist.
