On Tuesday, May 21, 2019 an angel came to escort our beloved father home, Ernest J. Soles at Beacon Place (Hospice). He was born on December 12, 1945 in Horry County, SC to the late Odom Long and Elizabeth Soles Grissett.

He retired from Custom Industries after 40 plus years of dedicated service. He was married to the late Jean P. Soles of Greensboro, NC.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Ernest is preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Soles; two grandchildren and two brothers, Nelson and Jerry.

He leaves to cherish his memories: one son, William Lamont Perry (Cindy) of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; three daughters, Carol Ann Soles, Alysia Warren Blake and Hope Warren; two stepchildren, Eugene Perry and Laverne Kelly; six brothers, Willie Earl (Diane), Nathaniel (Judy), Dennis, Larry (Mary), Kenneth (Shelia) all of Fairmont, NC and Jimmy (Wanda) of Rowland, NC; six sisters, Betty Kitt, Gladys Gregg, Shelia Grissett and Chriscilla Grissett all of Fairmount, NC, Ophelia Kinlaw (Mack) of Conway, SC, and Marylin Bethea  of Lumberton, NC; three grandchildren and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

His funeral will be held 1:30PM on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Woodard Funeral Home Chapel, 3200 N. O’Henry Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27405, with Pastor Larry Grissett officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Park. Woodard Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
