The funeral services for the late Mr. James D. "Butch" Chatfield of Ashburn, Georgia, who departed this life on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Crisp Regional Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cordele, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from the New Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Ashburn, Georgia with the Pastor, Reverend Dr. Marvin Brown, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia.James Donald “Butch” Chatfield, Jr. was born on March 3, 1954 in Ashburn, Georgia to the late Mr. James D. Chatfield, Sr. and Mrs. China Mae Smith Chatfield.        James was educated in the Turner County Public School System, and graduated from Eureka High School in Ashburn, Georgia in 1972.  After graduating from high school, James enlisted in the United States Army.       James was a DJ who enjoyed singing and spending time with his family, and he also had a great interest in automobiles.      Our beloved Butch gave up this earthly realm and moved to Eternal Rest on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the Crisp Regional Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Cordele, Georgia.  He was preceded in death by his father, James D. Chatfield, Sr., and a son, Cedric Gamble.      He leaves to cherish his loving memories his mother, China Mae Smith Chatfield of Ashburn, Georgia; a special friend, Betty Section; his children, Lawondo Gibson of Ashburn, Georgia, Shondalette Monique Chatfield-Ray (Christopher) of Atlanta, Georgia, James Sidney Chatfield (Shantell) of Columbia, South Carolina, James Donald Chatfield III (Sunga) of Cordele, Georgia, Markesha Monique Chatfield of Los Angeles, California; his grandchildren, Kayland Winters, Semaj Chatfield, Tristin Chatfield, Semiah Chatfield; siblings, Linda Gamble of Ashburn, Georgia, Billy Ray Hall (Michelle) of Rebecca, Georgia, Diane Chatfield of Ashburn, Georgia,  Aretha Clay (Alfred) of Cusseta, Georgia, Kimberly Chatfield, Michael Chatfield, both of Ashburn, Georgia; a special aunt, Eddie Mae Martin of Ashburn, Georgia; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
