Ms. Keisha LaVaughn Sherer went home to be with the Lord on Friday; May 3, 2019 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, North Carolina.  She was born March 17, 1969 to her loving parents, the late Perry and Sylvia Dawkins.

Keisha, affectionately known as “Mama Keisha,” attended Hunter Huss High School.  She worked as a cook at the Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Gastonia before working for Caromont Health as a baker for twenty-five years.  She joined Deliverance Christian Center Church of God in 1999, where she was a Sunday School teacher, on the Usher board, and Kitchen committee.  She loved her pastor and church family.

She loved her family.  She was loved by all who knew her.  Her presence will be greatly missed.  But the word reminds us that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Keisha LaVaughn Sherer leaves to cherish her precious memories two daughters: LaKeisha Sherer and LaTisha Lowery (Brandon); one son: Andre Currence, Jr. all of Gastonia, North Carolina; four grandchildren: Ariane Lowery, Harper Lowery, Ryleigh Currence and J’Zyin Sherer all of Gastonia, North Carolina; one brother: Tony Sherer (Edna) of Charlotte, North Carolina; two sisters: Mia Smith (David) of Thomasville, North Carolina and Tonia Dawkins (James) of Gastonia, North Carolina; her loving mother-in-law: Hattie Currence of Charlotte, North Carolina; two godmothers: Delores Norris and Lois Meeks both of Gastonia, North Carolina; a god daughter: Kashia Feaster of Gastonia, North Carolina; a god son: Mikal Nichols of Gastonia, North Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Please accept my sincere regrets for your loss. The bible does provide us with comfort and hope in times such as these. Revelation 21:4 says that God will wipe every tear from our eyes and death and pain will be no more. This scripture is especially comforting since we know this scripture has to be referring to the earth because these things don't exist in heaven.

We're so sorry to hear you are suffering the loss of your dear loved one. May you find strength and some comfort in the words found in Nahum 1:7 which reads: ”Jehovah is good, a stronghold in the day of distress. He is mindful of those seeking refuge in him.” Our loving God cares about us and is ready to bring us comfort if we allow him (1John 5:14). He also has made the provision of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored into a beautiful paradise (Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55:11). Can you see yourself welcoming back to life your dear loved one? Find out more about this resurrection online at JW.ORG
