Mrs. Carolyn Hathorn, 73, of Prentiss, Mississippi passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Forrest General Hospital, Hattiesburg, MS.  She is the daughter of the late Jake and Peggy Watts.  She was a member of Mt. Zion M. B. Church where she served as an officer in Sunday School BTU Institute.    She was a member of the Heroines of Jericho, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, NAACP, AARP, Red Cross and Tutor for the public school system. 

She was a retired school teacher who loved gardening, mentoring and fellowship with family and friends. 

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Jefferson Davis High School Gymnasium at 11am.  Interment will be in Griffith Cemetery, Prentiss, MS.

She is survived by: husband, C. Allen Hathorn of Prentiss, MS; son, Terreo Hathorn of Prentiss, MS; daughter, Sylvia Hathorn of Prentiss, MS; brothers, Harry Watts of Prentiss, MS and Larry Watts of Moss Point, MS; sisters, Lee Price and Delois Berkhalter both of Prentiss, MS; Shirley Graves of Bassfield, MS and Mary Watts of Orlando, FL; grandchildren: 7; great-grandchildren: 2

Visitation will be Friday, May 10, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Home, 1-5pm; family hour at Mt. Zion M. B. Church, 6-8pm.
