RICE, Lynn D. age 63, of Ellenwood, GA passed April 25, 2019.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Lynn D. Rice will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Little Miller Grove Baptist Church, 1970 Peters Road, Tucker, GA 30084.  Bishop Charles David, presiding and Pastor Clifford Jones, eulogist.  Interment, Lincoln Cemetery.

Viewing for Mrs. Rice is Friday, May 3, 2019, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at our chapel.

Lynn Denise Partridge Rice was born on November 3, 1955 in Atlanta, Georgia. She was born to Willie E. and Sara E. Partridge, who preceded her in death.  Lynn was one of seven children born to the Mr. and Mrs. Partridge.  One brother, Larry   Partridge, also preceded her in death.

Lynn graduated from Fulton High School in May of 1973.  After graduation she worked at Dobbs House International at Hartsfield International Airport. Later, she worked at the Greyhound Bus Terminal as a ticket agent, Northside Hospital as Dietician, Atlanta Public Schools as Nutrition Manager, and Henry County Schools as a Nutrition Manager.

In 1994, Lynn met her one true love, Samuel Rice. They were married on April 8, 1994. Lynn always said the key to a long-lasting marriage was her wonderful cooking and a husband that loved to eat.

As a school nutrition manager, Lynn had the responsibility of overseeing the day to day operation of feeding Georgia’s children, but Lynn never forgot about taking caring of people. Lynn was very fond of children, especially all the children that she served through her 20 plus years in Atlanta Public Schools and Henry County Schools.  As long as Lynn was in the kitchen, there was no child that would go hungry on her watch.

Lynn was deeply inspired by powerful women who came before her. She looked     adversity in the face and still thrived as she became one of those women. Lynn studied tirelessly and built a wealth of knowledge. She did everything with excellence and was a prime example of success. Her ferocity was equipped with many talents and Lynn never limited her own abilities and fought a valiant battle to the end.

She leaves to cherish the memories of her life a loving and devoted husband, Samuel B. Rice of Ellenwood, GA; one son, Corkney Michale Partridge Sr.; a step-son, Rodriga Lowe; step-daughter, Machika Lowe, Decatur, GA; one grandson, Corkney M. Partridge Jr.; one granddaughter, Danerica Lowe; two brothers: Willie (Janet) E. Partridge, Chattanooga, TN; Victor W. Partridge, Decatur, GA; three sisters: Beverly A. Partridge, Ellenwood, GA; Sonja Elaine Partridge, Decatur, GA; Diane Partridge Johnson, Ellenwood, GA; Goddaughter, Latonua (Jere) Hawkins, McDonough, GA; Godson Myles Johnson, Ellenwood, GA; special cousin, Dora Ward, Decatur, GA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Lynn was a hard working woman and done everything she could for anyone that needed it. She wasn’t afraid of getting in the kitchen and getting the food out by herself when short staffed. I’m sorry she’s passed but glad she is rid of cancer once and all!! She made whole again. She will be greatly missed. Love You Carol

To family and friends my deepest sympathies to you for the loss of your love one. The loss of love one brings tears and pain. Even Jesus wept over the loss of a loved one (John 11:33,35,38) May your family find the much needed comfort during this difficult time in God's Word the Bible, because it offers the wonderful hope of seeing our loved ones again and death will be completely wiped away from the earth forever. Revelation 21:3,4; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 33:24 Allow Jehovah God (Psalms 83:18) our Heavenly Father to comfort you through the Scriptures __ 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 Learn more about the resurrection hope and many more blessings for mankind at www.jw.org.

To the Family of Lynn Rice: I am sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine your pain and sadness at this time. May Jehovah God comfort and support you all during this time of sorrow. God has promised to one day put an end to death forever (Isaiah 25:8). Jesus also showed what He will do in the future. The Bible shows that in the future those who have fallen asleep in death will be brought back to life on a paradise earth (John 5:28 and Luke 23:43). Until that time comes may you treasure the memories you shared.

Our deepest condolences to all the love ones of the dearly departed. The words found at 2 Corinthians chapter 1 verses 3 and 4 were especially comforting to our family during the loss of our parents and dear loved ones. It says, "Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with comfort that we receive from God." May these words strengthen you too.

We're so sorry to hear you are suffering the loss of your dear loved one. May you find strength and some comfort in the words found in Psalms 9:9, which reads: “Jehovah will become a secure refuge for the oppressed, A secure refuge in times of distress.” Our loving God cares about us and is ready to bring us comfort if we allow him (1John 5:14). He also has made the provision of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored into a beautiful paradise (Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55:11). Can you see yourself welcoming back to life your dear loved one? Find out more about this resurrection online at JW.ORG
