Ricky Dean Crosby, Jr., 36, of Salem Drive, Gastonia, North Carolina was born on August 31, 1982 in Landsthul, Germany to Catherine McGowan Crosby and Ricky Dean Crosby, Sr.  Ricky departed this life on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, North Carolina.

Ricky was educated in California and Gaston County Schools in NC.

Ricky had many hobbies and interests.  He had a passion for reading.  He loved reading novels.  He had a love for playing video games and had virtually every video gaming system in his lifetime.  Ricky had a strong affection of cars and loved working on cars, especially import cars. 

Ricky was preceded in death by his grandmothers: Gussie Crosby and Mrs. Sarah Catherine McGowan; grandfather: Arthur Crosby; aunt: Darion Jackson; uncle: Johnny Arthur Crosby and George Brown, Sr.

Ricky leaves to cherish precious memories to his father: Ricky Dean Crosby, Sr. of Gastonia, NC; his mother: Catherine Michelle McGowan-Van Lengen (Jerry) of Newcastle, CA; his sister: Rian Crosby of San Diego, CA; his grandfather: Mr. Willie “Mac” McGowan; aunts:  Bertha Hart (Sherman) (Winston-Salem, NC); Edith Crosby (Laurel, MD); uncles:  Bob Frank Crosby (Denver, CO); Joe Crosby (Gastonia, NC); Rory McGowan, and Lawrence Long; first cousins:  Howard Crosby, Terry Crosby, Miguel Crosby, Bob Crosby, Jr., Felandria Jackson, Corey Hart, Michael Jackson, Darion C. Jackson, Franco Crosby, Shea Crosby, Aaron Crosby, Angel Crosby, Jessica Crosby and Adrian Crosby and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.

Memorial Service: Saturday; May 4, 2019; 3:00 p.m.; Gregory Funeral Service Chapel-601 N. York Street, Gastonia
