Mr. Sammy Lee Robinson “Sam” was the son of  Ms. Reola Barnett Robinson and the late Walter Brown.  He was the youngest of two siblings who was born on October 18, 1951 in York, South  Carolina.  He departed this life on Saturday; April 20, 2019.

At an early age, he joined New Hope AME Zion Church in York, South Carolina.  He was a 1970 graduate of Ashley High School,   Gastonia, North Carolina.  He worked for CSI-called Freightliner for 12 years. One of his hobbies was painting for family and friends and doing odd and end jobs.  Uncle Sam met a lot of people. He left a void in our life.

He was predeceased in death by his grandparents: Romeo and Geneva Cathcart; four uncles: James, Rafort, William and Romeo Cathcart; two aunts: Everlene Adams and Gladys Ysaquirre; and one nephew:  Vincent Erwin.

He leaves to cherish his memories one son: Mr. Jeffery Robinson (Shekita) of Leawood, Kansas and two grandsons: David and William of  Leawood, Kansas; he leaves behind a mother: Ms. Reola Robinson of Gastonia, North Carolina; two sisters: Ms. Rebecca Erwin of       Gastonia, North Carolina and Ms. Virginia Robinson of Syracuse, New York; three aunts: Mrs. Doris Jones (Percy) of Syracuse, New York; Mrs. Martha Womack (Jodie) of Syracuse, New York and Ms. Helen Benton of  Baltimore,  Maryland; a dear friend: Ms. Charlette Oliver of Sarasota,  Florida; two adopted children: Quay Shawn and Veronica Oliver both of Sarasota, Florida; special friend: Ms. Resa Blackmon; best friend: Ralph Ledford and a host of other relatives and friends.
Public Viewing only: Friday; April 26, 2019; 4:00 until 8:00 p.m.; Gregory Funeral Service Chapel-601 N. York Street, Gastonia

Memorial Service: Saturday; April 27, 2019; 1:00 p.m.; Gregory Funeral Service Chapel-601 N. York Street, Gastonia
