Chief Overseer Harold Lee Davis, Sr., son of the late William and Clara (Honey) Davis was born on September 7, 1928 in Mullins, South Carolina.  He departed his earthly life on April 8, 2019 after an extended illness.

Chief Overseer Davis grew up in and was educated in the public schools of Marion County, SC.  He enjoyed singing and sang with his family group, the Hanes Quartet and the Davis Harmonizers.  He was an avid gardener and customers came from all over to get his famous collard greens.  In 1947, he was united in holy matrimony with Marie Jones, and they moved to High Point, NC in 1964 where they were blessed with 11 children: seven daughters and four sons.  He was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost for the remission of sins, and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost according to the Doctrine as stated in Acts 2:38.  Shortly after being baptized, he was ordained as a minister and then a bishop on December 9, 1956 by the late Chief Overseer Jerome E. Davis of the Redeemed Church of Christ.  He was employed by Flowers Bakery for many years until he retired.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marie of 63 years; two sons, Harold Jr. and Dan Leo; as well as one daughter, Bonnie Faye Sykes; parents, four brothers and four sisters.  Chief Overseer Davis was the last living one of his siblings.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Davis Family during your hour of grief. We knew Mr. Davis as a God-fearing man during the time we lived on Whiteoak Street. He truly lived a Christian life and now his reward is with his Lord and Saivour Jesus Christ. Take your rest Mr. Davis, we will miss you dearly.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. My deepest condolences to all the family. Acts 2:38, is the Bible verse that I know best. I can recall singing, ''I Found The Way'' and Holy Ghost anointed services at ''The Redeemed.'' Sandra Gray GoinsOSHG

May Jehovah sustain you at this time of such great loss. God is the Creator of life. The Bible calls Jehovah God "the source of life." (Psalm 36:9; Acts 17:24,25) The One who gave life to all living creatures is certainly capable of restoring life to someone who has died. explains in detail how Jehovah plans to do away with that last enemy, death-1 Corinthians 15:26.

We are saddened to know you are grieving the recent loss of your loved one. May you find comfort in the words found in Psalms 34:18 which reads: “ Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Our loving God cares about us and is ready to bring us comfort if we allow him (1John 5:14). He also has made the SURE promise of a resurrection RIGHT HERE ON EARTH when it is restored into a beautiful paradise (Acts 24:15 Isaiah 55;11). See and imagine yourself welcoming back to life your dear loved one? Find out more about this resurrection online at JW.ORG

We can look forward to the day when there will be no more sickness and death. Revelation 21:4 says:..."He [God] will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." God cares for the brokenhearted; Psalm 34:18 assures us that he is close to them. Please accept my sincere condolences. Always remember God loves you and he cares for you! (Psalm 36:7; 1 Peter 5:7)
