Mr. Reginald Larue "Reggie" Cecil, 80, of Elizabethtown, KY died on April 7, 2019 at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Cecil was a native of Hardin County, KY and the son of the late Mose and Juanita Cecil.  Mr. Cecil was a member of St. James Catholic Church and served in the U. S. Army.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Cecil in January of 2019.

Survivors include two sons, Dexter Cecil (Shirley) of Indianapolis, IN, Terriance Cecil of Waterbury CT; daughters, Sherry Lynn Richardson and Cheryl E. Richardson both of Elizabethtown, KY and Valereese Cecil of Cleveland, OH; step-son Teddy Stewart of Elizabethtown, KY; brothers, Bernard Cecil of Radcliff, Gary Cecil (Rose) of Conyers, GA; Mose T. Cecil (Linda) of Elizabethtown, KY and step-brother, Billy Frank Buckner (Hattie) of Elizabethtown, KY; sister, Anita Bradley, Lexington, KY and one step-sister, Jackie Woods of Hodgenville, KY; brother-in-law, Norman Cleaver of Louisville, KY and sister-in-law, Betty Long of Elizabethtown, KY; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Percell & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. AB Wiley officiating.   Burial will take place at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY.

Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Friday, April 12, 2019 also at Percell & Sons Funeral Home.

    To Anita (Sissy), our best friends days as children woke with your lovely family on our sleepover weekends, where God was never any stranger. your family is blessed in the Savior Jesus, from whom all blessings flowed, in that Rememberances and good record brought forward prevail the righteousness of the Saintly Mind, we will sadly miss our brother Reggie, and hopes that his mission is continued in this Life we forcast his Eternal Love and comfort. Amen

    Our condolences goes to you and yours in this most difficult time . May you find strength from the words of 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4 which reads: “Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God." What a loving God who cares about each one of us, and is ready to help us in 9ur m9st difficult moments if we allow him to. (John 5:14) He didn't intend for us to grow old and die. He thus has made the SURE promise of a resurrection right here on earth when it is restored to a beautiful paradise (Psalms 37:9-11, 29; Acts 24:15; Isaiah 55;11).     We're so sorry to hear you are suffering the loss of your dear loved one. May you find strength and some comfort in the words found in Nahum 1:7 which reads: ”Jehovah is good, a stronghold in the day of distress.
